On Roller Furling…
Normally I try to put things up here that will entertain a broad audience. I know that most people reading it aren’t going to be very interested by “inside sailing” kinds of stories. Sometimes, I have to make an exception… … Continue reading

I Promised a Picture…
Two weeks ago ( it seems like forever!) I reported our landing of a big mahi-mahi. At the time I posted I couldn’t post a photo over the satellite link, but now I can: This fish is everywhere in the … Continue reading

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly…
[Pictures at the end of the post…] The Ala Wai Boat Harbor is an interesting place. It has been here for a long time. If you have ever seen a Hawaii Marina on a TV show, it was this one. … Continue reading

Look Ma, No Jetlag!
Tomorrow morning we change our clocks for the second time on this trip, this time to Hawaii’i Standard time. Except for one lucky crew member getting an extra hour on their watch, the time zones slip by without the pains … Continue reading
The Boring Forecast…
The offshore forecast out of Honolulu is consistent for the large patch of ocean surrounding us: NORTHEAST TO EAST WINDS 20 TO 30 KNOTS. SEAS 8 TO 12 FEET. SCATTERED SHOWERS. CONTINUING FOR THE FORECAST PERIOD. Same thing every day. … Continue reading
